ACAUT responds to NSCN(IM)
7th July, 2015
As part of its anti-corruption campaign, the ACAUT Nagaland started off with an expose on backdoor appointments in the Rural Development Department. This is only the beginning of our phase wise campaign and many more exposes are in the offing provided the PIOs of the other departments furnish the RTI answers on time. The general public is informed that the ACAUT has filed RTIs on backdoor appointments in other departments too and the PIOs are requested to strictly adhere to the timeline of 30 days within which they are to furnish the answers. Failure to do so may cast aspersion on the integrity of the ACAUT and the PIOs will be solely responsible for misleading the public. It is also common knowledge that filing RTIs in Nagaland is a roaring business and many individuals and organisations have become rich, thanks to the departments unhealthy practice of buying the silence of the RTI applicants. The departments are therefore warned not to make unsolicited calls to ACAUT unless it is related to RTI application.
The issue of corruption is a disease afflicting every section of society knowing no caste, creed, tribe, religion or territorial boundaries and therefore, the ACAUT Nagaland appeals to all right- thinking citizens not to swayed by false propaganda on the motives of ACAUT.
