Press Release: Asault on taxi driver

11th November, 2015

ACAUT Nagaland condemns the assault at gun point upon a driver of Wokha bound passenger vehicle (Tata sumo) on October 21st at Zonal taxi counter, Kohima by so-called NSCN (R) cadres led by one Abemo. Not content with beating him black and blue, the cadres forcefully extracted Rs. 5000/- from the taxi driver too. The ACAUT cannot but be surprised that even after a lapse of almost 20 days the culprit is still at large. To make it even most galling, the so called NSCN (R) cadre has even threatened the president of ACVA with death for standing up for his assaulted union member for which the ACVA has filed an FIR and rightly so.

The ACVA is a core support organisation of ACAUT Nagaland and as an organisation having concern for the well-being of Nagas and its land, the ACVA has resolved not to pay any form of taxes to any of the factions till the factions unite as per the slogan “One Government One Tax.” Therefore, the ACAUT Nagaland demands of the Kohima and Wokha police to immediately arrest Abemo and his henchmen failing which the ACVA may take recourse to any action in public interest.

The ACAUT Nagaland again supports the emergency meeting resolution of ACVA that unless the erring cadre returns the extorted money, the same shall be realized from the relatives of the cadre.
